The implications of renewable and non-renewable energy generating in Sub-Saharan Africa: The role of economic policy uncertainties

Abstract Sub-Saharan Africa which is one of the main regions known for various sources mineral and energy resources in global market has experienced appreciable rates economic expansion last 10 years. However, apart from environmental consequences generating energy, how uncertainties economy moderate impact generation on environment yet to be given desired attention. Hence, this study investigates role policy uncertainty energy-growth-emissions nexus 32 countries over period 1996 2014. Results one-step system-GMM show that real GDP non-renewable both increases CO2 emissions. while also propels high levels emissions region, its moderation effect renewable leads a reduction level region. This suggests an urgent need implementation sound macroeconomic policies safeguard sector disruptions mitigate resultant degradation
